It is a privilege to invite the global Sport for All movement to Gaborone for the 30th TAFISA World Congress. Reaching a thirtieth edition is a milestone for our association, and holding it on the African continent gives that milestone real meaning.

Sport for All has always argued that participation belongs to everyone, everywhere — not only to those with facilities, funding and free time. Botswana's own sporting culture, built in schools, villages and community grounds, is a practical demonstration of that argument.

Over five days we will examine what works: the policies that widen access, the programmes that keep people active for life, and the partnerships that make both affordable. We come to listen as much as to present.

I look forward to welcoming delegates from every region of the world to Gaborone in October 2027.

Dumelang, and welcome. On behalf of the Botswana National Sports Commission it is my honour to invite you to Gaborone for the 30th TAFISA World Congress.

Botswana is a country of just over two and a half million people spread across an area the size of France. That geography has taught us to be resourceful about participation: to run programmes that travel, to train volunteers rather than depend on specialists, and to treat every school field and village kgotla ground as sporting infrastructure.

We are bringing the congress to Gaborone because we believe those lessons travel too — and because the movement has much to teach us in return. Delegates can expect frank discussion, field visits to community programmes, and the hospitality Botswana is known for.

Come for the congress. Stay for the Delta, the desert and the pans. We look forward to receiving you in October 2027.
