Five days in Gaborone, 17–21 October 2027. An opening day, two days of sessions, a day in the field, and a closing day.

Formats

How sessions run

The congress uses six session formats. Which one suits your contribution determines how you submit.
  • Plenary

    60–90 minutes

    Whole-congress sessions with invited keynote speakers, framing the day's theme. By invitation of the Programme Committee.

  • Oral presentation

    15 minutes plus 5 minutes questions

    Standard conference paper slot within a themed parallel session. Selected from submitted abstracts.

  • Workshop

    90 minutes

    Participatory session led by practitioners. Delegates should expect to take part rather than sit and listen.

  • Elevator pitch

    3 minutes, one slide

    A single idea, programme or piece of research presented at speed to a plenary audience. See the call for elevator pitches.

  • Poster

    Displayed for the full congress

    A0 portrait poster with a staffed presentation window during the dedicated poster session.

  • Field visit

    Half or full day

    Structured visits to community programmes, with facilitated discussion on transferability.
