About the venue

The congress will be held at a single main venue in Gaborone, with plenary capacity for the full delegation, a set of parallel session rooms, exhibition and poster space, and catering areas.

Gaborone's compact layout means the venue, the official hotels and Sir Seretse Khama International Airport all sit within a short drive of one another. Transfer arrangements between the hotels and the venue will be published with the accommodation release.

What the venue provides

The specification below is what the Local Organising Committee is contracting for. It is published so that presenters and delegates with access requirements can plan.

  • Plenary hall seating the full delegation
  • Four to six parallel session rooms
  • Exhibition and poster area
  • Registration and secretariat space
  • Catering for lunches and refreshment breaks
  • Step-free access throughout, accessible toilets and a hearing loop in the plenary hall
  • Reliable power with backup, and venue-wide Wi-Fi sized for the full delegation

Accessibility

The congress is contracting for step-free access throughout, accessible toilets, and a hearing loop in the plenary hall. Delegates with specific access requirements — mobility, sensory, dietary or otherwise — should tell the secretariat during registration so that arrangements are made in advance rather than improvised on the day.
